8 day Hands-on Field Courses in Guatemala.
Visit beautiful Guatemala and work side-by-side with villagers in the true context of a rural development project: a remote mountain village. Experience firsthand the real-life needs of community members and the varied challenges faced by implementing NGOs.
Donor and NGO staff combine theory with practice by working in the field designing and implementing development projects from the ground up. Participants develop a range of skills, including how to facilitate participatory needs assessments, implement impact evaluations, and how to design and execute outcome-driven projects.
Workshops alternate between paradise—a beautiful tropical farm where we live—and a distant mountain village in southern Guatemala—both on the flanks of 11,600 ft. Volcán Atitlan. Visit Upcoming Workshops for a complete list of workshops, or contact us at the Center for more information on our field courses.
